The Strings Program and Chamber Orchestra are music performance and education programs involving bowed string instruments including the violin and viola. The program features both individual weekly lessons and the Statesboro Chamber Orchestra. Orchestra meets once a week and performs locally. Lessons are arranged individually. The Chamber Orchestra rehearses and performs music by classical composers, ranging from Handel and Bach to Holst and Britten. Its repertoire also includes film music, jazz, Celtic fiddling and popular music. To be eligible, students must be proficient on their instrument and be able to read music easily. In addition to strings, the group will also include select wind instruments. Interested wind players should call to arrange for an audition. Adult amateurs are encouraged to participate! For ALL AGES!​

Statesboro Chamber Orchestra
Tuesdays 6:00 - 7:30 on the 2nd floor of the main building
Ages: All Ages (Placed by Conductor)

Tuition: $170 per semester ($155 member)
The ensemble play music primarily by Classical composers. The be eligible, you must be proficient on your instrument and be able to read music easily.
Averitt Center Community Choir
Tuesdays 6:30-8:00
Tuition: $100 per session ($75 per session for members)

Unless otherwise noted, our choir rehearsals are held in 8-week sessions:
Session 1: August 14- October 6, 2023
Session 2: October 9 - December 15th; *No classes October 16 & Nov 20
Session 3: Jan 8 - March 8th; *No classes Feb 12
Session 4: March 18 - May 17; *No classes April 1-5

The Averitt Center community choir is open to anyone age 16 and older who has a desire to sing, have fun, and meet new people! No audition is necessary and all levels of singers are welcome. The goal of our time together is to sing a variety of choral music in 4 parts.
