WEEK 7 | JULY 12-16

Due to CDC guidance for the operation of Summer Camps during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a limit of 20 persons (campers and instructors) per space.


9am-12pm | ages 4-7 | Multi-Purpose Room @ the Averitt | Michelle Nesmith

Love science? Enjoy art? Stem Camp will include lots of fun activities making different structures and experiencing with science activities. Making structures out of marsh mellows and pretzels, experimenting with ice and making volcanoes. Wow! So much fun to explore science with art making!!


9am-12pm | ages 7-11 | Grande @ West Main | Laurel Boyles

This camp is designed for young dancers with or without prior experience who want to learn a variety of dance styles. Campers will learn and explore dance styles such as modern, jazz, contemporary, and more, and learn dances to perform on the final day! SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Intermediate, ATTIRE: Any style/color leotard, tights/leggings/or shorts, socks/jazz shoes, hair up, END OF CAMP SHOW: Friday, July 16th, 11:30am.


1-4pm | Adults | 3-D @ the Roxie | Kimberly Riner | Tuition: $200 ($155 member)

Camp for Adults? Why not? Beginner’s and experienced students are welcome in this camp! Each day of this camp will be a different hand built project, with one day focused on wheel throwing. Campers will learn hand building techniques to create projects such as Cake Plates, Butter dishes, bird houses, and sculptural works. Surface decoration will also be included in instruction.


9am-3pm | ages 7-12 | 2-D @ the Roxie | Jacuelyn Bolton

This week we will be traveling around the globe to discover art from other countries. Come celebrate these cultures by creating your own unique works of art. You will use acrylic paint, weaving, fiber, textiles, clay, and mixed media. Learn how your choice of color, material, mark making and textures create different moods and add meaning to the art piece. This camp is designed for maximum fun and creativity.


9am-3pm | ages 11-17 | Classroom @ the Averitt | Robert Cottle

This class is intended for students who play the piano and want to play with others. Pianists at all levels are welcome to participate. Over the course of the week we will work on ensemble music, including duets, trios. And pieces that will include all class members. We will work on music theory, aural skills, and the styles of music will range from classical- video games music and everything in between.
