LITTLE SWANS CAMP
9am-12pm | ages 3-6 | Grande @ West Main | Taylor Ellen
This Fairy Tale-themed dance camp is for ages three to six. Dancers will learn basic ballet steps and terminology, and have fun with movement games and exercises that help develop creativity and coordination. They will also make crafts, and read stories based on classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and more! Campers will learn dances to perform on the last day. Encouraged for SYB Creative Movement 1 and 2 students. Friday’s Camp Show will be held on June 5 at 11:30am. The skill level for this camp is beginner. Only 15 dancers will be enrolled into this camp.
LITTLE ONES IN THE LIMELIGHT THEATER CAMP
9am-12pm | ages 5-10 | Whitaker @ West Main | Eddie Frazier
All little actors are invited to register for this camp, which will put them in the limelight. Focusing on the fundamentals of theater, this camp will be great for both the new performers and those with experience. The week will conclude with a performance on Friday at 11:30am. Only 20 little ones allowed.
Come and join the fun at Lego Camp. Campers will let their imaginations run free while building whatever they want. Campers will also be using Legos for logic and learning activities and including a Lego Party where they will play some fun games and have a snack. If you love building with Legos and creating masterpieces, this camp is for you! This camp is limited to 20 campers.
1-4pm | ages 11-13 | Classroom @ the Averitt | Robert Cottle
Campers will learn to play their ukuleles during this camp. Designed for beginners, the campers will work on chord progressions, strumming techniques, and ensemble playing. A ukulele concert will be held on Friday at 3:30pm in the classroom. All students will need a ukulele for the camp. If you do not already own one, check with Pladd Dot. Enrollment for this camp is limited to 15.
Campers will have the opportunity to work in many different applications of clay, and expand their imaginations while working with the clay in hand-building sculpture, slab work, and coil work. Students will learn to work independently and collaboratively in a small-class setting with plenty of individual instruction. Campers are offered plenty of themes such as (Mythical Creatures, Safari, Ocean Exploration, Dinosaurs and much more!). Campers will be working with real stoneware clay and glazes. This will be a full week of fun and learning in clay! Projects will be fired and ready for pickup two weeks after camp. Campers will finish the week with an average of 6-10 glazed stoneware pieces. This camp is limited to 20 campers.
