Due to CDC guidance for the operation of Summer Camps during the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a limit of 20 persons (campers and instructors) per space.

LITTLE SWANS CAMP

9am-12pm | ages 3-6 | Grande @ West Main | Taylor Ellen

This camp is designed for our youngest dancers and is the perfect introduction to dance or for young dancers who have participated in our Creative Movement classes. Campers will learn some basic ballet steps and terminology, play fun movement games, make crafts, and learn dances to perform for parents on the final day, all with a fun Swan Lake theme! SKILL LEVEL: Beginner, ATTIRE: Dance attire, ballet shoes, END OF CAMP SHOW: Friday, June 4th, 11:30am.

UKULELE CAMP

9am-12pm | ages 5-10 | Classroom @ the Averitt | Robert Cottle

Campers will learn to play their ukulele during this camp. Designed for beginners, the campers will work on chord progressions, strumming techniques, and ensemble playing. Children need to provide their own instrument.

JUNIOR BALLET INTENSIVE

1-4pm | ages 7-11 | Grande @ West Main | Taylor Ellen

This camp is designed for young dancers who have ballet experience and are wanting to work on their technique, strength, and growth in a fun and encouraging environment. Campers will take daily ballet class, learn about the history and stories of classical ballets, and learn choreography to perform on the final day. SKILL LEVEL: Beginner/Intermediate (experience required), ATTIRE: Any style/color leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, skirt optional, hair in bun, END OF CAMP SHOW: Friday, June 4th, 3:30pm.

CREATIVE CRITTERS

9am-3pm | ages 4-7 | Multi-Purpose Room @ the Averitt | Jacquelyn Bolton

Have you ever noticed how animals, insects, birds and fish are like colorful works of art? This week we’re going to take a close look at some colorful critters and the wonderful patterns that make them so beautiful. You got it – Creative Critters will be your inspiration for wild and fun art pieces. You will use acrylic paint, fiber, textiles, beads, clay, and mixed media. Learn how your choice of color, material, mark making and textures make your animal art come alive. These classes are designed for maximum fun and creativity.

ARMATURE, ANIMALS AND ADVENTURE

9am-3pm | ages 7-12 | 2-D @ the Roxie | Erin Henry

Looking to get messy this summer? This is the camp. Learn how to make fun items using paper mache’. You will learn how to incorporate recycled materials to create animals, landscapes, armature and lots more.

CLAY ADVENTURES I

9am-3pm | ages 7-12 | 3-D @ the Roxie | Georgina Osuna Diaz | Supply Fee: $15

The ultimate clay summer camp experience! Campers will have the opportunity to work in many different applications of clay, and expand their imaginations! While working with clay in hand building sculpture, slab-work, and coil work. Students will learn to work independently and collaboratively in a small class setting with plenty of individual instruction. Campers are offered plenty of themes such as (Mythical Creatures, Safari, Ocean exploration, dinosaurs and much more!) and they incorporate instruction for a variety of clay techniques and plenty of room for exploration! Campers will be working with real stoneware clay and glazes. They will decide on a project theme(s) for the session and explore these ideas through their projects. This will be a full week of fun and learning in clay! Projects will be fired and ready for pickup 2 weeks after camp. Campers will finish the week with an average of 6-10 glazed stoneware pieces.
