The Rising Creek Music Series began as a vision to give local and regional songwriters a place to showcase their original music. The Southeast has a wealth of talent and we want to provide a space and time for them to show off and truly be appreciated as artists. Twice a year songwriters are invited to submit samples of their original work for an opportunity to take the stage at the Emma Kelly Theater where they will have from twenty to forty-five minutes all to themselves to draw the audience in, build their fanbase, and get a feel for what it’s like to perform for folks who are there just to hear them perform.  The first concert in the RCMS was held on September 27, 2018 and the audience was treated to two hours of fantastic music from local singer/songwriter John Alan Brown, Atlanta based ThunderGypsy, and nationally known songwriter Micahlan Boney.

Each cycle in the series takes on a different flavor because of the diversity of the submissions. The Fall ‘19 cycle leans more toward the roots of American music with Americana, Country, Bluegrass, and rock artists.

Produced by Brandi Harvey Music and curated by Brandi Harvey, and Robert Cottle, this show is the beginning of a movement in Statesboro to enrich the soil for bands and solo artists who are hoping to expand their market and develop a following that will see them to the next level of performing.
