Handmade ceramic bowls will be on sale during the Bowls in the Boro fundraiser in conjunction with the Downtown Statesboro Tent & Sidewalk Sale on Dec. 10-12.

The Averitt Center visual arts team, along with local artists, students and other volunteers, formed clay into bowls on the pottery wheels at the Roxie Remley Center for Fine Arts building for weeks in anticipation of the opening of the Statesboro Farmers’ Market last April. But, COVID dashed those plans for the annual fundraiser.

Now, as a part of the impromptu Christmas celebration, Bowls in the Boro is back! Each bowl is unique for that special, one-of-a-kind gift which has a variety of uses. Because of the intense kiln firing process, each bowl is safe to use in the microwave and even a household oven. Bowls in the Boro is an annual fundraiser for the visual arts program of the Averitt Center for the Arts.

The bowls will be on sale for $10 each under the marquee of the Emma Kelly Theater during the Downtown Statesboro event. During Friday’s sale, chili will be provided by
