Where Creativity Builds Community

The Averitt Center for the Arts is a home for visual, performing, and educational arts in downtown Statesboro. Every class, exhibit, and event reflects our mission: to enrich lives and build a stronger community through the arts.

What Guides Us

Our mission is to create inclusive access to the arts for all. We value:
  • Creativity as a public good
  • Accessibility for all ages and backgrounds
  • Lifelong learning
  • Excellence in education, curation, and production
  • Collaboration with local and regional voices

A Center Born from Community

Founded in 2004, the Averitt Center was sparked by a grassroots coalition of civic leaders, educators, artists, and citizens. Today, it anchors a thriving arts ecosystem in Bulloch County — offering 80+ performances, 300+ classes, and multiple galleries annually.
