Home Interior Faux Finishing And Decorative Painting
Faux Finishing and Decorative Painting
Professional faux finishes in your home or business can cost as much as $350 a square foot! This multi-class workshop will teach you all you need to know to transform your interior with beautiful, non-toxic, water-based paint finishes, imitating the look of a Tuscan villa, French country farmhouse, or make that wooden mantle into a marble masterpiece! These skills are applicable to a variety of projects including walls and floors, furniture, fine art, or set design--materials widely available at your local hardware store! Your instructor Scott Foxx has operated his own faux finishing business for over 12 years and his work can be seen in homes and businesses in Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA and Savannah, GA.
(Day 1) Basic Materials and techniques for the Faux Painter: This class will cover the basics of faux painting history, a ‘how-to’ of basic housepainting technique and all the necessary materials to execute some simple but very effective painted finishes. We will also discuss color choices and paint technology, as well as answer the age old question--“What is a ‘holiday,’ and why do painters hate them?” With this class you will be ready to tackle your first in-home project with confidence!
(Day 2) - Building on the previous day’s information, this class will focus on more advanced techniques such as marbling, faux wood and faux stone.
INSTRUCTOR: Scott Foxx
TIME: 10:00 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. (Bring a sack lunch.)
DATE: 2 Days, September 14 & 15
AGES: MATURE Teenagers & Adults
COST: $200 (All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring a smock or apron.)
