The Averitt Center offers youth classes through its four youth programs:

Musikgarten: Parent and Child Music Instruction

Progressive music literacy training from infancy!

Every child has musical potential. Musikgarten offers sequential studies for every developmental stage. By building upon and repeating patterns and melodies session by session, children learn to listen, recognize and reproduce music by singing, tapping and eventually writing down melodies and rhythms. All instructors are fully qualified to teach in their area of expertise. When necessary, assistants are hired to keep adult – child ratios at optimal levels. All Averitt Center employees undergo a criminal background check. The Averitt Center for the Arts takes a strong stand against child endangerment. Parents of young children are welcome to observe from outside the classroom if they desire.

Remember that selected Friends of the Arts members receive discounts on instructional programs. Enthusiast & Devotee Levels receive 10% off and Connoisseur Level receives 15% off.
