orchestraMUSIC: Statesboro Chamber Orchestra

The ensemble rehearses and performs music by Classical composers, ranging from Handel and Bach to Holst and Britten. Its repertoire also includes film music, jazz, Celtic fiddling and popular music. CLICK TO EXPAND INFORMATION...

To be eligible, students must be proficient on their instrument and be able to read music easily. In addition to strings, the group will also include select wind instruments and serious student wind players should call to arrange for an audition. Adult amateurs are encouraged to participate!

clayART: Beginning Wheel Throwing

All instructors are fully qualified to teach in their area of expertise. When necessary, assistants are hired to keep adult – child ratios at optimal levels. All Averitt Center employees undergo a criminal background check. The Averitt Center for the Arts takes a strong stand against child endangerment. Parents of young children are welcome to observe from outside the classroom if they desire.
