In honor of our "Legend in the Arts" inductees, our gallery on the second floor is named our Legends Gallery. It features various artists who rent the gallery throughout the year.
All Legends Gallery opening receptions are held during First Fridays.  All receptions are FREE and open to the public.

Blind Willie McTell

Blues singer, guitarist

Blind Willie McTell's music is characterized by his clear voice and twelve-string finger picking technique. His crisp, clean guitar lines intertwine with and underline his lyrics. Through his wide repertoire McTell was able to cater to his audience, being adept at playing blues, ragtime, gospel, pop, and country material. None of his records was a hit, however, he was able to record prolifically by creating a different pseudonym for each recording scout he encountered. Read more...

Emma Kelly

Musician

Emma Thompson Kelly was a Georgia music icon.

She was named the “The Lady of 6,000 songs” for her encyclopedic knowledge of popular music by the late Johnny Mercer. She was a Bulloch County native and her lively performances at church services, civic clubs, school graduation, senior proms, weddings and recitals, endeared her to thousands of Georgians – both young and old.

Dr. Michael Braz

Pianist/composer

Michael Braz received his B.M. and M.M. degrees from the University of Miami, later completing a Ph.D. as a University Fellow at Florida State University. A keyboard soloist in England’s Haslemere Festival of Early Music, he has also collaborated with numerous orchestras, music festivals, and ensembles ranging from chamber music to jazz and rock.
